One day, a grandfather gave his grandson-Yug an old clock.
Yug looked at it carefully and asked, "Grandpa, this clock looks very old. Yet you've kept it safely for so many years. Is it very special?"
Grandfather smiled warmly and replied, "Yes,
it is very special to me. Your great-grandfather gave me this clock when I was
about your age. I have treasured it ever since. Every time I look at it, it
reminds me that every moment of life is precious. More importantly, it taught
me one of the greatest lessons of my life."
Grandfather continued, "When I was
your age, I often thought, 'I still have plenty of time. I'll finish my
homework later... I'll help my parents tomorrow... I'll do it in the evening.'
I kept postponing even small tasks. Slowly, saying 'I'll do it later' became a
habit. By the time I realized my mistake, many precious moments and good
opportunities had already slipped away—and they never came back."
Yug looked at the old clock and understood its message.
