Knowledge Without Practice Is Useless

 

🌟 The Swimming Champion 🌟

Madhav was a curious boy who loved learning new things. One afternoon, while visiting the school library, he found a book called "How to Swim Like a Champion."

The book explained everything about swimming—how to float, how to breathe, how to move the arms and legs, and how to stay safe in the water.

Madhav read the book with great interest. By the time he finished it, he felt quite confident.

The next day, he excitedly told his friends, "I know all about swimming now!"

A few days later, the school announced swimming practice. 

As the students gathered near the pool, everyone was eager to jump into the water. Madhav, however, quietly stood at the edge of the pool.

His coach noticed him and asked, "Madhav, why are you standing here? Aren't you coming into the pool?"

Madhav smiled shyly and replied, "Sir, I've read everything about swimming, but I've never actually been in the water. I'm not sure if I can do it."

    

The coach smiled warmly. 

"Reading is a wonderful start," he said. "But no one learns to swim by reading alone. Every swimmer becomes confident only through practice."

Those words encouraged Madhav.

He stepped into the pool. At first, it wasn't easy. He struggled to float and often lost his balance. But he didn't lose heart.

Every day after school, he practiced with patience and determination. Little by little, he improved. Soon, he could float with ease, swim across the pool, and enjoy the water with confidence.

A few months later, Madhav represented his school in a swimming competition and won a medal.

Looking at his medal, he smiled and said, "The book gave me knowledge, but practice gave me confidence."
