In a cheerful school, there were two friends — Love and Kush. Both sat in the same class, on the same bench, every single day.

One morning, their teacher announced, “Tomorrow, I will ask questions from today’s lesson. Listen carefully.” 

Love sat straight, looked at the teacher, and focused. His eyes were attentive, his mind was alert, and he even noted important points.

Kush was also sitting there… but his pencil was drawing cricket bats in the notebook 🏏. His ears were open, yet his mind was busy planning the evening match.

The next day, the teacher began asking questions.

Love answered confidently. 

Kush lowered his head. 

After class, Kush said, “But Ma’am, I was in the classroom. I heard everything!”

The teacher smiled and picked up a small bell. She rang it softly. “Did you hear that?”

“Yes!” both boys replied.

Then she whispered slowly, “Now tell me how many times I rang it?”

Love answered correctly. Kush could not.

The teacher gently said, “That is the difference. Hearing is the sound entering your ears. Listening is paying attention with your mind and heart.” 

From that day on, whenever the teacher spoke, Kush kept his pencil down, looked up, and truly listened.

Slowly, his marks improved, his confidence grew and even at home he listened carefully to his parents.

 The Silent Paintbrush

In a small town, an art competition was announced. Many students came with shiny paint boxes, branded brushes, and colorful kits.

 Among them was a quiet girl named Meera. She carried her paints in an old cloth bag. Her brush looked worn out, and her colors were kept in small reused containers.

 Some students giggled. “Will she even be able to paint with that?” one whispered.

The competition began. Everyone started painting quickly, showing off bright colors and fancy techniques. Meera quietly dipped her old brush into the paint and worked slowly.

 When time was over, the judges walked around to see the paintings. There were many beautiful pictures — mountains, rivers, sunsets.

Then they stopped in front of Meera’s painting.

She had painted an old woman feeding birds in the rain. The emotions in the woman’s eyes were so real that it felt alive. The rain looked like it was falling, and the birds seemed ready to fly off the canvas.

The hall became silent.Meera won the first prize.

The students who had laughed at her understood something important — talent does not depend on appearance or expensive tools.

Arjun also shouted loudly for help.

Hearing their voices, the man panicked and ran away.

Arjun felt safe again. “Thank you, Bhaiya,” he said. “Now I understand why the secret password is important.”

Krishna smiled. “Yes. Always trust your instincts and speak up.”
